Arc is interested in the commercial development of innovative materials
using unfired clay binder.
In 2002, Arc led a project to develop unfired clay bricks and mortar
for the Errol Brick Company Ltd. The first extensively tested earth
masonry materials currently mass-produced in the U.K., they were designed
to be used without specialist skills or equipment. While sadly the Errol Brick Co. has since closed, others have since developed similar products.
In 2009, Arc collaborated in an industry wide R&D project, funded by the Technology Strategy Board.
