Arc is interested in the commercial development of innovative materials using unfired clay binder.
In 2002, Arc led a project to develop unfired clay bricks and mortar for the Errol Brick Company Ltd. The only extensively tested earth masonry materials currently mass-produced in the U.K., they were designed to be used without specialist skills or equipment.
Generally suitable for use in internal situations, they should be used with appropriate care. Arc has no financial interest in these products.
Arc has advised other commercial companies in this field and are currently working on a number of related projects.
