Arc was invited by the Markinch Church Conservation Group (MCCG) to tender for conservation works to the Session House which was designed by Sir Robert Rowand Anderson in 1875 and lies within the grounds of Markinch Parish Church.

The Session House features some ornate stonework which has suffered in more recent years from accelerated deterioration as a result of modern pollution and inappropriate repairs.

The proposed scope of conservation works includes the removal of cement pointing and remaining render, descaling stones, new indent stonework and repointing in lime.  In addition, the existing timber louvres and doors are to be refurbished and painted subject to final budget confirmation.

This project started on site in the summer of 2015.
