As RIAS grade A conservation accredited architects, Arc has
considerable experience of diverse projects to conserve, reinstate
and reuse historic buildings. These have included the consolidation of
ruined structures, restoration, alteration and extension of historic buildings in Conservation Areas.
Projects include planning, energy efficiency, research, feasibility
studies, grant administration, management of voluntary groups, training
and establishing a Building Preservation Trust.
Arc has particular expertise in vernacular materials, Georgian & Medieval buildings and energy efficiency.
A rigorous technical approach to the conservation of historic fabric
is balanced by a sensitive approach to the introduction of modern design
and services, carefully judged in their architectural and cultural
contexts.
