The Old Schoolhouse at Logie in Angus is an 18th century mudwall building, recently saved from demolition by the National Trust for Scotland’s Little Houses scheme. Built as a school for the local mill, it became a church in the 19th century, before being abandoned in 1991 and suffering partial collapse in 2004.

The schoolhouse was recently ‘A’ listed by Historic Scotland as a rare surviving example of once common vernacular mudwall construction.

Arc has been appointed to conserve the historic building and adapt it to use as a house, which may involve an extension to the building and reinstatement of its thatched roof. On completion, it will probably be sold.

Arc would welcome contact by anyone with knowledge of the history of this building.
