This exciting project to develop a ground-breaking eco building was granted planning consent in February 2009 after two years of careful design and consultation.

The highly sensitive site borders a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) on the slopes on Ben Lawers National Nature Reserve and is in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

The design uses local natural materials to create a modern building whose form is sculpted to fit the landscape of limestone escarpments. The centre will focus on the lower hill ecology and human history and will act as an integrated gateway to the area.
